The Business School is one of the larger Schools at the University. It employs over 150 full-time academics and researchers. Academic staff are primarily organised around subject interest areas into Departments.
The School is proud to have formed a unique strategic alliance with ACCA, (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), which has led to the creation of the Oxford Institute of International Finance through which programmes are offered on a world wide basis. These include a tutor supported, online MBA. In addition the University offers the BSc Applied Accounting for ACCA students who have completed Parts 1 and 2 of the professional examinations.
In 2004, students from over 100 countries were represented on undergraduate programmes and from over 60 countries on taught postgraduate programmes. Students from around the world are also studying on our distance learning programmes or courses leading to Oxford Brookes University awards.
Many international students also transfer to us from schools and colleges in the United Kingdom after completing academic or English Language Foundation programmes or Diplomas.
Where possible we design our degree programmes to meet the needs of international as well as 'home' students. We strive to offer programmes that will help develop knowledge, understanding, judgement and personal management skills appropriate to personal career development needs. We strive at the admission stage to make sure that our student groups are balanced and work well for you. You will be expected to share and exchange ideas, learn from and interact with others.
Our Enterprise Centre is currently conducting work in several countries for clients and our researchers often input their contributions to international conferences. This breadth of international exposure has been a significant factor in the development of the School's international reputation.
